Who we Are

Jim and Rachel are two extremely passionate educators who believe with the right tools, ALL students can and want to do their best at school.

Jim is an assistant principal with an unwavering belief in all children.  He works hard to create strong relationships with all of his students.  This results in students spending less time in his office and more time in the classroom.

Rachel is an elementary English language teacher.  She is a fierce advocate for increasing student engagement and productive language in the classroom.  Her immersive learning approach infused with high expectations creates an environment of learners working at their true potential.

We are not only business partners, but a husband and wife team with a blended family.  Having 3 different last names in one house created an issue of not knowing what to call "us".  We have one last name that starts with "P" and two that start with "B".  One day we joked that we are the PB&J household (using Jim for the "J") and it just stuck.  

With both of us constantly bouncing ideas off each other related to the classroom and students, we became the PB&J Learning Lab.
